Watermelon Juice with Lime and Mint

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ripe watermelon flesh, cubed seedless or de-seeded
  • 1 lime lime, juiced preferably fresh
  • 10 fresh mint leaves mint leaves for flavor and garnish
  • 1 pinch salt optional, enhances flavor

Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Blender
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Glass or Pitcher

Method

  1. Use a sharp knife and cutting board to cut the watermelon into smaller cubes, removing any rinds or seeds if necessary.
  2. Add the watermelon cubes to a blender, along with fresh lime juice, mint leaves, and a pinch of salt. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and no large chunks remain, about 30-40 seconds.
  3. Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl or pitcher and pour the blended watermelon mixture through it, using a spatula or spoon to press the liquid through and strain out pulp and seeds. Discard the solid remnants.
  4. Transfer the strained juice into a glass or pitcher and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to chill thoroughly, observing the juice become clearer and colder with condensation forming on the outside of the container.
  5. Pour the cold juice into glasses, optionally garnished with a sprig of mint or a lime wedge, and serve immediately with ice if desired. The juice should appear vibrant red, slightly translucent, and with a smooth, cool liquid surface.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of sparkling water or a dash of chili powder for a spicy kick.
