Piña Colada

A Piña Colada is a creamy cocktail made primarily with fresh pineapple, coconut cream, and rum, blended until smooth. The final beverage has a velvety texture, with a bright yellow color and frothy top, served cold in a glass. It combines tropical fruit flavors with a rich, coconut-infused creaminess.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks peeled and cored
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream full-fat for richness
  • 3 oz white rum optional, for flavor
  • 1 cup ice cubes for blending into a icy texture
  • 2 tbsp sugar optional, for sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure and prepare all ingredients. Place the pineapple chunks, coconut cream, white rum, sugar, and ice cubes into the blender.
1 cup fresh pineapple chunks, 1/2 cup coconut cream, 3 oz white rum, 1 cup ice cubes, 2 tbsp sugar
  2. Secure the lid on the blender and process on high speed until the mixture is smooth and frothy, about 30-45 seconds. Pause to scrape down sides if necessary, ensuring an even blend.
  3. Check the consistency; if too thick, add a splash of pineapple juice or water, and blend briefly to incorporate. The mixture should be velvety and pourable, with a bright yellow hue and a frothy top.
  4. Pour the blended Piña Colada into chilled glasses. Optionally, garnish each with a slice of pineapple or a maraschino cherry for visual appeal.
  5. Serve immediately with a straw, allowing the foam and vibrant color to be enjoyed visually and through taste.
