Ingredients

  • 8 pieces slider buns preferably brioche or potato rolls
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup for variation
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard or honey mustard for milder flavor
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced ham preferably honey-glazed or smoked
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted, for brushing
  • 1 tbsp honey for mixing with butter

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Pastry brush
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping them attached on one side if possible, and arrange the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Mix the Dijon mustard with honey until smooth, then spread a generous layer over the cut sides of the buns, focusing on the inner surfaces to infuse flavor.
  4. Layer the sliced ham evenly over the mustard-coated buns, making sure each slider gets a good amount of meat for maximum flavor.
  5. Close the sliders with the top halves of the buns, pressing down gently to hold everything together.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with honey, then use a pastry brush to generously coat the tops of the buns, creating a sticky, flavorful glaze.
  7. Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, until the buns are golden and the glaze is bubbling and caramelized on top.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the sliders rest for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to set and the glaze to firm up slightly.
  9. Slice into individual sliders if needed, or serve whole with extra honey mustard on the side for dipping.
