Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until they form a smooth paste. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla to the banana mixture and mix. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in. Add the flour last and mix until just incorporated. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
